Noel Anderson, MMT, MT-BC

Noel Anderson, MMT, MT-BC, founded Anderson Music Therapy Services in 2011 and served as its leader for nearly two decades. During her time with the practice, she helped build and grow Anderson Music Therapy Services into a resource for individuals and families throughout the region. As Founder Emeritus, Noel is recognized for her vision, dedication, and lasting contributions to the organization and the field of music therapy.

Noel is a Board-Certified Music Therapist and is licensed to practice music therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She has also completed advanced training as a Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) and Certified Trauma Professional.

Noel earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Immaculata University after completing her clinical internship at the Kardon Institute for Arts Therapy in Philadelphia. She later completed her Neurologic Music Therapy certification through Colorado State University and earned her Master of Music Therapy degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In addition to her music therapy credentials, Noel also holds certification in Music Education.

Before founding Anderson Music Therapy Services, Noel developed and led a school-based music therapy program serving children through adults with multiple disabilities. During this time, she valued collaborating closely with speech, occupational, and physical therapists, as well as teachers and paraprofessionals. Her appreciation for interdisciplinary collaboration continues to influence the work and development of Anderson Music Therapy Services.
