Noel Anderson, MMT, MT-BC is the founder of Anderson Music Therapy Services and has been a Board Certified Music Therapist for nearly 20 years. She is licensed to practice music therapy in the state of Virginia and has advanced training as a Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) and Certified Trauma Professional.
Noel earned her Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Immaculata University after completing her clinical internship at the Kardon Institute for Arts Therapy in Philadelphia. She went on to complete Neurologic Music Therapy certification through Colorado State University and later earned her Master of Music Therapy degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. In addition to her music therapy credentials, Noel also holds certification in Music Education.
Before founding Anderson Music Therapy Services, Noel developed and led a school-based music therapy program serving children through adults with multiple disabilities. During this time, she especially valued collaborating closely with speech, occupational, and physical therapists, as well as teachers and paraprofessionals—teams she still deeply appreciates.
Music has been part of Noel’s life for as long as she can remember. She began singing do-wop songs and writing songs before she could even read or write clearly. By age ten, she was already performing publicly—and she hasn’t stopped since. While her primary instrument is voice, she also plays guitar, piano, and flute.

Fun Fact about Noel: Her passion for music therapy has been shared globally, as she has used music therapy in both Africa and India.
