Megan is a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and Virginia Licensed Music Therapist. She earned her degree in Music Therapy from Illinois State University, along with a minor in Psychology.


Megan moved from Chicago, Illinois to Roanoke, Virginia in 2022 to complete her music therapy internship at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Since then, she has gained experience supporting individuals with a wide range of needs, including brain injuries, intellectual and developmental disabilities, anxiety, depression, PTSD, hospice and end-of-life care, long-term care needs, and mental health concerns. She has also worked with students in school settings across a variety of diagnoses.


Megan is passionate about helping individuals reach their highest potential through evidence-based music therapy interventions. She is especially interested in the mind-body connection and the way music can support emotional regulation, resilience, and overall wellness.


Music has been a central part of Megan’s life from an early age. While her primary instrument is the French horn, she has participated in a wide range of musical experiences including orchestras, bands, jazz ensembles, marching band, horn ensembles, a cappella groups, theater troupes, and musical performances.


Outside of work, Megan enjoys playing instruments, continuing her education, practicing yoga, and spending time in nature.





Fun fact about Megan: Megan’s music taste really just depends on her mood, ranging from rap to various instrumentals, rock to country, indie to jam bands, and so forth.
